Company URL sync with custom CRM


Our development team is saying the ONLY way to sync HubSpot companies with our customer CRM is via correct URL’s but if that is missing or wrong (bc sales reps don’t put in) then Hubspot is not synced and has incorrect or old data. Is that true? Is there not another way to sync the two, or a layered approach where URL is first but then it checks for other info?

Are you referring to company record deduplication during imports? That is only done based on the company domain name and website URL properties (see below). If you’re creating a custom sync using the HubSpot APIs though, you don’t necessarily need to rely on this deduplication, and can instead use the internal companyId:
