Difference between creating a new contact via POST and form submission

We have a custom form on our website that we wish to post data to Hubspot which then forms part of a workflow.

Do we use POST option or the form submission option? The POST option is easier but I want to know whether I can then build a workflow from the POST.

HI @nickipotts,

The Create a new contact endpoint is designed for offline contacts, and does not support lead tracking. Since your contacts are coming through an online form, you’ll want to use the Submit data to a form endpoint. Your workflow can then be set to enroll contacts that have submitted this form. You can find some more information on that endpoint below:
