Identify a visitor "Logout"

#1

Hi

I am using the tracking code from Hubspot, and identifying the uses as it's described here:

https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/tracking_code_api/identify_visitor

And it works just fine, I am able to track the user when he login to the app but I can't find in the documentation on how to stop tracking the user when he logout.

Any idea on how to stop the tracking with the API?

Regards

Hi @DP37,

The identify method is intended to associate a tracking cookie (hubspotutk) with a contact record, allowing web analytics to be properly associated going forward. It's often used on login, but it doesn't directly track sessions and it doesn't need to be 'logged out'. The cookie in the user's browser will allow the HubSpot tracking code to collect web analytics for that contact even after the contact is logged out.
