Missing Custom Variable Fields in Email Sends



I have a question about {{custom.fields}} being passed into specifically into emails through the API. I know that when the {{custom.fields}} are missing or null when they are passed into to the email, the email doesn't send through Hubspot.

However, my question is if we have a {{custom.fields}} being passed through, but are not actually being used in the template, will this also cause the email to not send?

Including a custom property in the request that doesn't appear in the email body does not prevent the email from being sent.
